PaperMode Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of PaperMode. By using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy at https://papermode-eight.vercel.app/privacy
Use of PaperMode
PaperMode is a reading and Screen Time helper app. You are responsible for choosing the apps, categories, reading goals, imports, and settings you use.
PaperMode is provided for personal productivity and reading support. It is not a medical, mental health, parental-control, legal, financial, or emergency service.
Accounts
A PaperMode account and sign-in are required to use the app. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure.
You can initiate deletion of your PaperMode account from the account settings in the app. Deleting your account or the app does not cancel an App Store subscription, which remains managed through your Apple account.
Imported Content
You are responsible for the PDFs, EPUBs, article URLs, and other content you import into PaperMode. Only import content you have the right to access and use.
PaperMode may store imported content on your device. Some features, such as cloud article extraction or summaries, may process content through backend services as described in the Privacy Policy.
Summaries and Text Processing
Automatically generated summaries or text cleanup may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable. Use your own judgment before relying on generated output.
Screen Time Features
PaperMode uses Apple frameworks to help apply app shields based on your configuration. Apple controls parts of the Screen Time authorization and enforcement system, and PaperMode cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free shield behavior.
Subscriptions
PaperMode Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store. Subscription options may include weekly, monthly, and yearly plans. Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region.
Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price shown in the app.
Yearly free trial. The yearly plan may include a free trial period (currently 3 days). If you start a free trial, you will not be charged until the trial ends. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid yearly subscription and your Apple ID will be charged.
Managing and canceling. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings app under Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Deleting the PaperMode app does not cancel your subscription.
Restore purchases. If you reinstall PaperMode or use a new device, you can restore prior App Store purchases through the in-app Restore option. PaperMode uses RevenueCat to sync subscription status with Apple.
Refunds. All billing and refund requests are handled by Apple, not PaperMode. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support.
PaperMode Pro provides access to paid features such as starting new article, PDF, and EPUB imports and using cloud recaps. Basic reading, previously imported content, and PaperMode's Screen Time configuration and reading-to-unlock features remain usable without an active subscription. PaperMode does not charge for access to Apple's Screen Time APIs.
Acceptable Use
Do not misuse PaperMode, backend services, or support channels. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, overload, abuse, or interfere with PaperMode services.
No Warranty
PaperMode is provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaperMode and its developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes
These terms may be updated as PaperMode changes. The updated terms will show a new "Last updated" date.
